Welcome to Manchester Cathedral

Rogers Govender
Dean of Manchester

Thank you for visiting our website and I hope you will soon be able to visit Manchester Cathedral set in the vibrant city centre of Manchester, surrounded by shops and offices where thousands of people meet for business, work, shopping and leisure. In the midst of this great city we also have many urban challenges including poverty and homelessness. Our calling is to be a Christian community celebrating our diversity, supporting those in need and creating hope in the love of God in Jesus Christ. We serve a large, diverse urban diocese and county with ten towns which includes the two cities of Manchester and Salford.

Our vision is to grow and build a community that makes a difference in our society and the wider world through the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ.  We seek to live out our faith in God in practical ways and to be an inclusive Cathedral as we see the grace of God at work around us. I am also pleased to say that we make great music through our choirs and musicians and you can experience this at our regular services during the week and on Sundays.

This website will provide helpful information if you are seeking to explore the Christian faith, attend a service of worship or planning a visit. If we can be of further assistance to you please do not hesitate to contact us.

God bless you!

We are open to visitors (9.30 am to 4.00 pm) daily and for worshipers wishing to attend daily services from 9.00 am to 5.30 pm. (Please check our weekly service schedule for specific times of services taking place throughout the week as these are sometimes subject to change)
