Visitor Services Manager, Dympna Gould, reveals some of the secrets of Manchester Cathedral in this extended extract from the spring edition of The Guide.
The institution, which dates its origins to the 11th Century, has evidence of an earlier incarnation of a church on the site and has a series of unusual and beguiling features which add to the mysteries and myths of this historic building.
All is revealed on the regular tours of the cathedral but here Dympna teases viewers with some of those special features.
