On Friday 2 June 2017, The Duke of Cambridge visited Manchester to meet some of those who were affected by the attack at Manchester Arena. The Duke visited Greater Manchester Police Headquarters, Manchester Cathedral and Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. During his visit to Manchester Cathedral, His Royal Highness met members of the community who had shown acts of kindness following the attack, including local taxi drivers and restauranteurs and representatives from Northern Rail, the British Red Cross and St John Ambulance.
